Terms of Service
These terms are the agreement between you and WrimoForge (“we”) for using WrimoForge. By creating an account you agree to them. They are written to be read, so the parts that matter most — that your writing stays yours, and how Premium is charged and cancelled — are near the top.
Your writing is yours
Everything you write in WrimoForge belongs to you. We claim no ownership of it and no right to publish, sell or share it. You give us only the permission we need to run the service for you: to store your writing, show it back to you, and count its words. Nobody else can read your manuscript — see the privacy policy for exactly what other writers can see.
We take care of your drafts, but no service is immune to failure. For anything you could not bear to lose, keep a copy of your own as well.
Your account
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
- Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens in your account, and you should tell us straight away if you think someone else has got into it.
- One person per account. Accounts are not transferable.
Premium, billing and cancelling
- WrimoForge is free to use. Premium is an optional subscription that adds the features listed on the pricing page, at the price shown there when you subscribe.
- It renews automatically at the end of each billing period, monthly or yearly as you chose, and your card is charged at each renewal until you cancel. Payments are processed by Stripe.
- Cancel any time from your Profile, under Manage Billing. Premium stays on until the end of the period you have already paid for, and you are not charged again.
- Refunds. Because you can cancel before any renewal, we do not refund partial periods. If you were charged by mistake, or something went wrong, write to us within 14 days of the charge and we will put it right. Nothing here takes away a refund right the law where you live gives you.
- If a renewal payment fails, Stripe retries it for a while and Premium stays on in the meantime. If it still cannot be collected, the subscription ends and your account goes back to Free. Your writing is untouched either way.
- If we change the price of Premium, we will tell you before it applies, and the new price starts at your next renewal after that notice. You can cancel before then.
- Going back to Free never deletes anything you have written.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time from your Profile. Deleting it removes your novels, their text and history, your friendships, cheers and badges, and it cannot be undone. If you have Premium, deleting your account cancels the subscription immediately, without a refund for the rest of the period — cancel first and delete later if you would rather use the time you have paid for.
Fair use
Please do not use WrimoForge to:
- break the law, or infringe someone else's rights;
- harass, threaten or impersonate other writers;
- try to get into accounts or data that are not yours, probe for weaknesses other than through a security report, or put unreasonable load on the service;
- send spam or automated friend requests.
We may suspend or close an account that does these things. If we close a paid account for any other reason, we will refund the unused part of its current period.
The service itself
We work to keep WrimoForge running and your writing safe, but we provide it “as is”, without warranties of any kind, and we do not promise it will always be available or free of errors. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you for anything arising from the service is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
We may change or retire features. If we ever shut WrimoForge down, we will give you at least 30 days' notice and a way to take your writing with you, and refund any Premium time you have paid for but not used.
Changes, law, and how to reach us
If these terms change in a way that matters, we will say so before the change takes effect, and the date at the top will move. Continuing to use WrimoForge after that means you accept the new terms. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States.
